What The Future May Hold

This past week, I was so excited to have my first official mentor visit of the 2020-2021 school year with Marcia! We had a great time catching up as well a discussing what this year might look like in regards to COVID, visits, research, etc. Basically, our visits will be virtual (zoom calls) and she will be giving me resources to conduct research as well as just gain some insight into the journalism industry versus observing hands-on experience in the newsroom. I proposed my original work idea to her and she loves it--I will be receiving some help on how to edit with audio and video as that is something I have not experimented with a whole lot. I’ve already learned so much just by catching up with her and am optimistic about our mentorship experience round 2! Additionally, on a different note, I went on a college tour at Mizzou and I think it is safe to say that there is a great possibility that I will be attending there in the fall. They have everything I’ve ever really wanted in regards to Journalism, let alone being the best school for it in the country, so I could definitely vision myself as a Mizzou tiger, class of 2025!
