It’s time for new thinking! This past week I was able to finalize my new original work project in hopes of still producing something that would benefit me in my learning but also maybe even the football team. I completed 2 research assessments that will further advance my knowledge of the sports journalism world and what goes on when a player gets injured and how to write a generic sports report. Recently, Dak Prescott encountered an ankle injury during the Cowboys vs. Giants game. I got to analyze a few articles about this event and look into what interviewers ask during conversations with coaches and players. One of the articles was about the press conference with head coach Mike McCarthy and how the writer summarized it. Additionally, I analyzed an article about how to write a sports report, and correlated it with the other two articles written specifically about Dak and his ankle injury. I asked myself how I could incorporate these skills into my own work for my original work and final product. This how-to benefitted me in more ways that I initially thought, and actually, I’ve already been writing like this in my yearbook class. I am now strengthened by the analysis of all three of these articles and will be able to produce my own content in a professional matter.
