After a lot of thought and conversation, several more research interviews and assessments, I knew in my gut that there just wasn’t anyone to compare the experience I had with Marcia with. This year in ISM II, I will be learning under the mentorship of Ms. Marcia Allert at The Dallas Morning News once again and I have never been more excited about a learning opportunity than this one! Although COVID is still moderately prevalent, and the newsroom is closed to not only visitors but staff included, I am sure that with my end goal for this class I will gain the most help and learn the most under Marcia than anyone else. We recently caught up after not zooming since May as I had gone to camp for the summer and it’s easy to say that I dearly missed our weekly meetings & conversations. I am most looking forward to my final product and how I will learn to pick out the strong images versus the “fluffy, emotionally-tied” images for my work. Additionally, this week I also watched another one of the Adobe MAX convention videos to be able to know more about the Premiere software to kick this video into high-gear.
