This past week, I had my second mentor visit with Marcia for this school year. I got to learn about image composure and how to not have basic, “predictable” images in my portfolio. For example, we talked about the rule of thirds and how I could incorporate that rule into my vertical frames at football games. After my visit, I watched a mini-documentary about a 51-year-old woman who plays football. This video will help shape my original work and give me inspiration for some of the shots I take at games. Over Thanksgiving break, I plan on getting ahead in my work at home so that the three weeks between breaks are less stressful in regards to creating my original work and spending lots of time on it. I will do a few research assessments that relate to my original work and find more videos similar to the one with the woman who plays football. Additionally, I will start compiling all of my videos that I’ve already shot to see what I have, what I need, and what I can go ahead and do. We have 2 more games before the playoffs, the projected finish date for my video, so this research will be crucial in order to create something spectacular.
